Expressive Arts
I offer a holistic approach that utilizes the creative process and imagination as a tool for personal growth and healing. Expressive Arts Therapy is based on the premise that healing is a form of creative transformation. I provide a creative path that is unique to your healing journey by combining cognitive behavioral techniques with intermodal expressive arts processes. Cognitive behavioral techniques focus on your thoughts and core beliefs that influence your experience of life.
Expressive arts processes allow access to personal transformation on numerous levels including body, emotions, soul and spirit. This is a fun and practical approach to healing that incorporates the creative modalities of visual art, music, writing, movement, drama, sand tray, and spontaneous play. You will choose which modalities to explore based on your unique situation and experience. I assist you with expressing the deeper parts of yourself by encouraging the unconscious to emerge through personal imagery. Therefore you are able to explore your issues and patterns on a deeper, nonverbal level that brings new perspective and meaning.
Memory Tree Wellness offers individual, group, and family services. Treatment specializations include: life transitions, body image issues, self esteem/self confidence, rites of passage, empowerment, stress management, depression, anxiety, and creativity coaching. At the initial session we will assess your needs, prioritize your healing goals, explain available services, provide recommendations for upcoming sessions, and complete paperwork.
